Since most of what I need to collect is text in the form of txt, rtf, pdf, or webarchives, I can add a document or text to something in scrivener and then tag it with a couple keywords or something and it suffices for my purposes. You can use it in a manner quite similar to voodoo pad and depending on how you're organizing your information, it could suit you.Personally, I use scrivener atm. It's relational mojo is pretty cool and works fairly well. You might also consider journler.

It had the benefit of allowing me to embed stuff like videos and pictures which was handy for some related items but it has no way to directly search for files or anything.I'd recommend yojimbo if you open it up and look at it and just think "nifty! all that stuff will come in handy!" It has a fair amount of polish and does a good job.I'd recommend devonthink pro if you have huge amounts of stuff to deal with. I used it for a while and while i liked dumping stuff into it to make notes and keep ideas around, it wasn't really good to accumulate random stuff that wasn't text. Voodoo Pad can be really really handy, or a huge timesink. I had enough odd bugs encountered then that I'm unwilling to dabble with together.Eaglefiler doesn'y really strike me as a good choice since it seems more like it's primarily an archiving tool rather than a way to accumulate information and view that information within a single application. Having dabbled a bit in each, i'd recommend either yojimbo or devonthink pro.together in its prior incarnation as keepittogether (kit) was pretty uninspiring.

I use other text editors for needs other than quick notes. For now, I use Yojimbo, as it works the same with both FireFox and Safari, for my primary capture needs. For research I use DTP.Lots of choices and 08 looks like it may offer more. If my primary needs were for text based capture, it would be nice. Leap may fit that bill and I will likely buy it.VoodooPad is too limited for me. I also support the devs for future product development. Also great developers.I own Yep but rarely use it as I want something that catalogues all file types, not just pdf. I do use it for researching previously captured info and look forwared to the new products in the pipeline as well as v2.x, due out this year.

Complete External Access - Synchronize natively with Simplenote, or via files in Dropbox with PlainText, Elements, iA Writer, and other iOS apps.I currently use several apps and own way too many.Yojimbo is my main collection depository because of the simplicity of capturing either a note, webarchive or pdf from the web.Eaglefiler is a neat app but is too pokey for my needs.I own it to support development of future versions.DTPro is great for researching captured material but I don't use it as a primary capture tool because the UI is VERY dated and requires too many kludges to work the way I do.
